In this talk, Liz will explore why AI hallucinations occur and how designers can address the gaps between user expectations and AI capabilities. Reflecting the theme Equipping New Craft, you will hear more about the critical role of content design in shaping user experiences, and how loose, scalable design patterns empower users to effectively use AI.
After 15 years of crafting joyful and purposeful user experiences, Liz Pomeroy embraced the challenge of designing for nondeterminism in AI. As a Lead Designer at Unity, she works on Muse Chat, an AI-powered chatbot that boosts productivity and lowers barriers for creators by automating tasks and providing relevant solutions. Originally from the US, Liz moved to Copenhagen in 2016 with just a one-way ticket, a bicycle, and a backpack to pursue life in one of Europe’s most design-forward cities. Outside of work, she enjoys sewing, running a natural wine import, and long-distance cycling across Europe.
